Warren - Donald R. Recser, 80, of Warren, passed away unexpectedly Friday night, March 8th at his home.
He was born on November 17, 1938 in Warren, Ohio. He graduated from Warren G Harding (Class of 1955) and an obtained an Accounting degree at Rollins College, FL in 1967.
Don was a nationally-recognized, award winning, local artist who took great pride in his community, state, and country – which greatly influenced his subject matter. As a self-taught artist, he was proud of his numerous creations & accomplishments. Along points in his art career, his work was displayed at the Butler Art Institute, Trumbull Art Gallery, Warren city street banners, and a national LPGA event.
He proudly served in the Air Force in Orlando, and then was employed as an Accountant Supervisor at Sherwood Medical Industries & Minute Maid. He then returned to Warren his home, eventually retiring early from Packard Electric to pursue his passion.
He was an avid health and nutrition “advocate” that influenced many around him with his strength and pursuit of perfection. He enjoyed all sports, the Browns, researching financial markets, weight training, travel, and daily gardening. He was very proud of his children.
Survivors include his wife, Jill & his children John (Patti), Margaret (Josh), a sister, Mary Grace a sister-in-law Karen Loprire, a nephew Nicholas Loprire and a niece Melissa Ferrara (Chris).
Preceded in death by his mother Margaret Loprire, step father Nick Loprire and a brothe, Nick M. Loprire.
Per Donald’s request there will be no calling hours or services held and a caring cremation will take place.
Arrangements have been entrusted to professional care of the Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home, 727 E. Market St., Warren.
