Thomas John Davis

Thomas John Davis, 24, went home to our Heavenly Father surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 14, 2017 in St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown following complications from a seizure.

Thomas was born April 24, 1993. He is the son of Richard T. and Theresa A. Romano Davis. Thomas grew up in Champion, where he attended and graduated from Champion High School in 2011.

Thomas had a vast love of music, so much so that he taught himself how to play both the guitar and piano becoming a very accomplished guitarist. He would spend hours listening to music and then play it on his guitar, excitingly calling his family in to hear what he had learned. He was inspired musically by the late Kurt Cobain.

Along with music, Thomas had a great love of history and museums. He loved reading and researching not only history but current events. Thomas loved cooking and spicy foods. Nobody ate spicy like Tommy.  Thomas also loved the Cleveland Indians and one of his favorite things was going to their games with his parents and sister or getting together to watch the game on tv.  Thomas loved working outside and was a talented and creative landscape designer. This hard work, dedication and talent led Thomas to start up and operate his own landscaping company.  But what was most important to Thomas was his family and friends. Being a beautiful person inside and out made him loved by many. Thomas was very protective of his mother and father and incredibly loyal to both family and friends. Always at the ready to help and stand up for those he loved. He was trustworthy and private with the things people shared with him and their feelings.  Thomas and his dad, Richard, had a very special relationship. Thomas would go out of way to help his dad and spend time with him. They shared a love for science, the atmosphere, astronomy and watching the stars; spending hours discussing these with his dad. Thomas looked up to his dad and wanted to be just like him. He always made a point of being there and showing his dad just how much he loved him.  Thomas made sure to show his mom how much he loved and appreciated everything she did. Her love, support and pride made it so Thomas knew he could be or do anything. Together they shared many hours talking about everything from their day to current events to what a bad driver his mom is. These talks will be a cherished memory for Theresa.  He and his sister, Nicolette, had a very special and unique bond that Nicolette will treasurer forever. Thomas loved her and made sure she knew it. He was incredibly proud of her. The two of them always made time for each other. His two nephews, Peyton and Owen were a source of pride, joy, laughter and great love for Thomas. They looked up to and adored their Uncle Tom.  His cousins will cherish all the memories they had growing up together. The many cookouts, birthday parties and sleep overs at Baba and Didi’s house. Playing basketball and cornhole or sitting around a fire.  Thomas always spoke highly of his many close friends. He loved them wholeheartedly, especially his best friend, Rick Yauger, whom Thomas referred to as his “brother”.  Thomas considered his pets his family and loved them as such.

Thomas was a member with his family of St. William Catholic Church in Champion.

Besides his parents, Thomas leaves his sister, Nicolette (Adam) Gilger and his 2 nephews, Peyton and Owen. His grandfather Gerald Craft (Godfather). He also leaves his aunts, Laurie Cortman, Francy Shaffer (Godmother), Angela (Bryon) Holk and Geri (Mark) King. His cousins, Brianna, Kathryn, Jessica, Alizabeth, Stephanie, Emily and their husbands and children. And his many friends, his dog and his cats.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr and Mrs Thomas (Marilyn) Davis; his maternal grandparents, Mr Nicholas Romano Sr and Mrs Patrica Romano Craft. An aunt, Catherine Linert; an uncle, Nicholas Romano Jr; and one cousin, Jennifer Linert.

Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Sinchak & Kaszowski Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will begin on Thursday, October 19, 2017 with closing prayers to be recited at 9:10 a.m. in the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m. in St. William Catholic Church, 5431, Mahoning Ave NW, Warren, Ohio 44483 with Fr. Michael D. Balash as celebrant.  Burial will follow in Dugan Cemetery in Fowler Township.
