Robert L Blake, Sr.

Robert L. Blake, Sr., 65, of Lordstown, entered into eternal life peacefully at home with his family at his side on Saturday, March 4, 2017 following a courageous battle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease. 

Bob was born on December 26, 1951 in Alliance the son of the late Robert S. and Nancy Jean Baddeley Blake.

A 2003 General Motors retiree, Bob worked for 34 years as an assembler and tow motor operator at the production plant in Lordstown.

Bob was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Warren and was a member of Shorty’s Spotsmen’s Club in Warren Twp and the Highland N.A.U.S. Club.  He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle and golfing.  Bob was also an assistant coach of the Lordstown Girls Softball Rec League, where is daughter Macala played ball.

Bob will be sadly missed by his wife of 16 years the former Betty Ann Petrigalla, whom he married on July 6, 2000; a daughter Macala E. Blake, son Robert L. Blake Jr. and daughter Tracy Benedetti; five sisters Lucy Ann Blake, Barbara Barringer, Susan Reed, Sandra Gandee and Nancy Brooks; two brothers Clarence and David Blake; several grandchildren, great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and by a host of friends.

In keeping with Bob’s wishes, private graveside services were held.

In lieu of flowers, if family and friend’s desire, memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name to either the ALS Foundation of Northern Ohio Chapter, 6155 Rockside Road Suite 403, Independence, OH 44131 or to Ohio Living Hospice, 6715 Tippecanoe Road Building E Suite 201, Canfield, OH 44406.
