Patricia B. Craft, 80, of Champion, went home to our Lord on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 8:55 a.m. in St. Joseph Health Center with her loving family at her side following a long illness.
She was born March 5, 1936 in Warren, the daughter of the late John E. and Bertha T. Ulicny Mink of Warren.
Patty was retired from WalMart, where she was employed for 20 years. She was also employed at General Motors. Patty was a licensed beautician and taught classes at Raphel’s School of Beauty. She was also a nurses aide at St. Joseph Hospital.
Patty was an active member of St. Williams Parish in Champion. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, who loving called her “Q”, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Patty also enjoyed bowling belonging to the Delucia’s Ladies “B” bowling league for many years. She enjoyed sewing, the challenges of crossword puzzles, playing dice and cards. She also had an enjoyment for traveling, gardening, enjoying a good book and she loved to cook. Patty was a lover of the Christmas Season.
Patty will be forever remembered by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Craft, whom she married on August 28, 1976, her daughters Francy Shaffer, Theresa (Richard) Davis, Angela (Bryon) Holk and Gerilyn (Marcus) King; her grandchildren Nicolette, Adam, Thomas, Brianna, Tyler, Kathryn, Jessica, Alizabeth, Nathen, Stephanie, Emily, Crystal and Talon; her two cherished great grandsons Peyton and Owen all who affectionately referred to her as “Baba” and “Other Baba”. She is also survived by a brother Michael “Ed” (Annabelle) Mink and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, Patty was preceded in death by her late husband Nicholas J. Romano Sr. whom she married on February 6, 1954 and he preceded her in death on September 22, 1974; a son Nicholas J. Romano Jr. who preceded her in death on July 11, 1970; a daughter Catherine Linert; a granddaughter Jennifer Linert and son-in-law Jeff Shaffer.
A time of visitation will take place on Monday, July 18, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home, 727 E. Market St. Warren, Ohio 44481, where closing prayers will be recited at 9:05 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2016 prior in leaving for the church.
A Mass of Christian Burial, with Fr. Michael D. Balash officiating, will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2016 in St. Williams Parish in Champion. Burial will follow in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Lordstown.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Patty’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
