I am so sorry to read of Mike's passing! Had I known he was still living, I certainly would have gone to visit him. My father was Lyle "Red" Hayes and I believe he was Mikes' foreman at Van Huffle Tube.. he spoke of Mike so often at our supper table, that we all knew him.. or so it seemed. Stories of him working the "jackhammer" to pitching ball. My father even took me to Warren to watch Mike pitch.. he was an amazing athlete, and one could tell my father had great admiration for this special man. You have my sincerest sympathy and I know that he and my father, who passed in 1974, will be having some nice long and happy conversations in heaven!!!

Uncle Mike, you will be missed as will your candor, your incredible knowledge, and the sly smile that meant you had a 'goodie' for me even when mom said no! Wonderful memories made in your home - especially your kitchen from stinky sauerkraut to eye watering horseradish, making pizza, and baking paska to mention just a few.
Aunt Helen, know we love you!
