Margaret Mary (Liptak) Prox, 95, of Warren, entered into eternal life Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 8:45 a.m. in Gillette Nursing Home under the comforting care of hospice.

Margaret was born on December 7, 1920 in Youngstown the daughter of the late John and Anna Sarisky Liptak and was a lifelong area resident.

She graduated from Warren G. Harding High School and was employed by the Warren City Schools in the cafeteria.  She was a charter member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, where her father, John was instrumental in founding the parish which is now St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.  Margaret was very active in the parish working in the kitchen as a pirohy worker.  She was also a member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Union 422 and the Slovak Catholic Sokols 251 of Warren.

Margaret enjoyed polka music, cooking, baking kolachi and crocheting, where she received several awards for her talent from the Canfield fair.

Margaret was married on April 27, 1940 to Andrew F. Prox and they were married for 45 years until his passing on February 23, 1986.  She is survived by her six children Andrew J. (Marilyn) Prox of Vienna, Larry M. (Nancy) Prox of Cortland, Dennis W. (Kathryn) Prox of Port Orange, FL, Kenneth A. (Karey) Prox of Livonia, MI, Janet M. (Charles) Trigilio of Mentor and Marjorie (Paul) Sindelar of Heath, OH; sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Steve, John, and Frank Liptak, Ann Politsky and Delores Linko and by a granddaughter Amy Prox.

Calling hours will take place on Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and again on Monday, October 31, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:20 a.m. all at the Sinchak & Kaszowski Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial with Fr. Craig A. McHenry officiating will be offered on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish-SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church preceded by closing prayers to be recited at 9:20 a.m. in the funeral home prior in leaving for the church.  Burial will take place in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.

The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice, the staff at Gillette Nursing Home and Community Skilled Nursing Centre for all of their kindness and compassionate care that they provided to Margaret and her family.
