John P. Slovinsky age 93, of Warren, passed away Thursday evening June 25, 2015 with his loving family at his side.

John was born October 29, 1921 in Sagamore, Pa., the son of George and Catherine Gundy Slovinsky   He served in the United States Army during World War II and then served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

John worked at Mullins Manufacturing Co. as a supervisor and at the Pittsburgh Armory also as a supervisor. He and his wife owned and operated John and Anne’s Café 22 until they retired.

John was a member of Sts Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church. He was a member of the Warren Elks Club.  John was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.

John’s wife, Anne P. (Macko) Slovinsky, whom he married January 11, 1947, passed away on September 23, 1999.

John leaves his loving family, son John P. Slovinsky and his wife Suzanne of Cortland, OH; daughter Mary Anne Denman and her husband William of Cortland, OH; daughter-in-law Nancy Slovinsky of Dunnellon, FL; six brothers George Slovinsky of Ravenna, OH, Mike Slovinsky of West Virginia, Donald Slovinsky of Punxsutawney, PA, Dave Slovinsky of Creekside, PA, Joe Slovinsky of Sagamore, PA, Steve Slovinsky of Warren, OH; two sisters Catherine Lewis of Michigan, and Rita Juart of Plumville, PA; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, son Donald M. Slovinsky, two brothers Paul and Delmas Slovinsky, and his sister Lillian Krecota.

Divine Liturgy will be offered at Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church at 12:00 Noon on Monday June 29, 2015, preceded by a panachida service at 11:30AM at the funeral home.

Friends may call from 10:30AM until 11:30AM at the Sinchak and Sons Funeral Home on 727 East Market Street in Warren, Ohio 44481.

Burial will take place at later date.
