John E. Mosko, 87, of Warren, entered into eternal life on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 5:32 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown.

John was born on December 2, 1929 in Warren the son of the late Anthony and Mary Neilan Mosko Jr. and was a lifelong area resident. 

He was a machine operator with the VanHuffel Sheet & Tube.  John also owned and operated until recently the JEM Construction Company and was Lieutenant of the Cortland Fire Department for many years.  John was past Boy Scout Leader and was a 26 gallon blood donor with the American Red Cross.

John was a lifelong member of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Warren and attended the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon in North Jackson, where he was active with volunteer work and sang in the church choir.

Affectionately known as “Jack” by his family and friends, he survived by his second wife the former Jacqueline Ackerman whom he married on February 3, 2001; three sons Kevin A. and Edward W. both of Niles and Brian S. (Patricia) of Howland; two daughters Kathy S. Miller of Kenosha, WI and Kimberly M. (Phillip) Elliott of Sharon, PA; a sister Catherine Wronkovich of Cincinnati; a brother Michael “Mick” Mosko of Warren; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren;  Jack is also survived by three step-daughters Deborah (Evan) Earl of Newton Falls, Valerie Higgins of Youngstown and Tracy (Howard) Johnson of Clearwater Beach, Fl; five step grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Jack was preceded in death on December 3, 2000 by his first wife the former Alice Campbell whom he married on April 22, 1950; a son John R. Mosko; a daughter Lynne F. Rodgers; sisters  Frances Martin and Ann Tisher; and two grandchildren.

Calling hours will take place on Monday, November 20, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Sinchak & Kaszowski Funeral Home, 727 E. Market St., Warren.

A Divine Funeral Liturgy will be offered with Fr. Simeon B. Sibenik officiating at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017 in SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, preceded by a Panachida Service to be recited at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home prior in leaving for the church.  Burial will follow in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Warren Twp.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Jack’s name to either SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 185 Belvedere NE, Warren, Ohio 44483 or to Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon 2759 N. Lipkey Road, North Jackson, Ohio 44451.
