Donald P. Stark, Sr., 71, of Warren, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 10:40 p.m. in Northwest Medical Center in Margate, Florida under the comfort of hospice.

Don was born on April 15, 1944 in Passaic, New Jersey, the son of the late Jacob and Ruth (Martin) Stark.

A 1962 graduate of Girard High School, Don retired from Packard Electric in 1994.  He was owner and operator of the Holiday Bar in Warren from 1987 until his retirement in 2005, where he put Stark’s Famous hot dogs and fried bologna sandwiches on the map.  His favorite entertainment at the bar was celebrating St. Patty’s Day at “O”Starks Holiday Bar.”  For many years, Don ran the annual New Year’s  Eve Party at the Mahoning Country Club with Don Knight.

Don coached little league baseball for his boys for years.  He was a member of the Moose and Masons and was “Thimble”, the Ali Baba Grotto clown for years.  He loved playing Morra and enjoyed driving his 1929 Oakland around town.

He retired to his condo in Margate, Florida 10 years ago, where he enjoyed NASCAR and telling stories with his many friends.  Don loved making people laugh and definitely enjoyed life.  He was best known for his two favorite mottos; “Nothing Matters” and “It doesn’t get any better than this.”

Don is survived by his wife of 40 years the former Mae Moszumanski, sons Daniel of Stow and Donald Jr. (Trisha) of Warren; daughters Kelly (Chris) Brown of Warren and Kim D’Amico of Warren; a brother Bob (Velora) of Andover; twin sister Doreen (Wayne) Evans of McDonald; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

Calling hours will take place on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home, where Fr. Jeffrey Stealey will offer prayers at 3:00 p.m. Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions in Don’s memory be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5000 E. market Street, Suite 19, Warren, Ohio 44484 or to the Animal Welfare League 812 Youngstown Kingsville Road, Vienna, Ohio 44473.
