Tony Kook, 82, passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at Hospice House in Poland. Tony was born Jan. 6, 1930, in Warren, the son of John and Mary Temchak Kook. Tony served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from LTV Steel Co. in Warren. Tony was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish at St. James Catholic Church, the Mecca Moose Lodge and the Girard Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed dancing, traveling and going to the YMCA. Tony leaves his loving companion, Josephine A. Marsh of Warren; a brother, Stanley Kook of Warren; a sister, Rosie Gerchak of Warren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Walter and Joseph Kook and Frank Cook; and two sisters, Helen Bogolin and Anne Strohmeyer. Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish at St. James Catholic Church, preceded by a 9:30 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Material tributes may be made to Hospice House in Poland.
